Thanks for the information and explanations. Is this TPM something that anyone can do for say their laptop? If so how is it done? I have an old laptop, ASUS. It is over 12 years old. I can not afford yet a new one. It has older versions of Microsoft Windows 7. I did not want the newer ones. I am not very computer knowledgeable.

That computer is a security risk, get a used (budget friendly) computer with a TPM and Windows 11. Go with a DELL, my professional recommendation.
